Sheriff's Office is Beginning Transition into New Building

12/03/2024

The Lawrence County Sheriff's Office has begun transitioning into it's new Sheriff's Office and Jail effective Monday December 3, 2024.

This process will take approximately two weeks to complete.  The first step is the administrative side followed by the jail portion.

The Sheriff's Office is asking the public to please bear with us as we make this change.  Phone lines, email, fax lines etc. are in the process of being moved and set up.  Because of this, it will be difficult over the next few days to contact someone directly by phone, fax and in some cases email.

The best way to contact someone at this time is to come directly to the new facility at 1525 Missouri Drive, Mt. Vernon, MO  65712.

Contact may also be made by going to our website at www.lawrencecosheriff.com and select the "Contact" tab in the upper right corner.  If information is filled out, it will reach someone.

The third option is to contact Lawrence County 911 at 417-466-2131 then select option 1.  They can radio someone and advise there is a contact waiting.

This transition DOES NOT affect 911 or any emergency call, only administrative functions at this time.

Again, we ask for the public's patience as we begin this move.  We hope to be fully up and back to normal with the next two weeks.

Thank you,

Sheriff Brad A. DeLay
