The Lawrence County Sheriff's Office was dispatched to assist the Verona Police Department with a death investigation in Verona on Tuesday evening July 30, 2024.

Deputies were dispatched to a possible stabbing that had just occurred on Washington Street in Verona.  When deputies arrived, they found a male subject deceased in a vehicle with an apparent stab wound.

Another male subject was at the same location and upon further investigation was taken into custody in relation to the death.  No formal charges have been filed at this time.

The investigation will be on going and an autopsy to determine the cause of death will be conducted today, Wednesday.
