A suspect is currently in custody after running his vehicle into the Lawrence County Jail.  The suspect arrived at the Lawrence County Jail stating that he had been shot. Deputies went to meet with the subject in the lobby when he immediately left.

Deputies caught up with the subject outside in the parking lot and discovered the vehicle he was driving had been driven into the front of the Lawrence County jail.

A struggle ensued with deputies as the suspect, for no apparent reason, attempted to take the deputies taser from his holster.  One deputy received minor injuries in the struggle.  It was determined that the subject had not been shot.

The subject was subdued and taken into custody.  Charges are pending on the suspect for driving under the influence, and assault on a law enforcement officer.
