The Lawrence County Sheriff's Office has received a grant from the Missouri Department of Transportation Highway Safety Division for overtime.

The grant will provide overtime pay to put additional deputies on the road for the Sheriff's Office.  Those deputies will be assigned to work DWI enforcement, Saturation Patrols, and Checkpoints as well as Hazardous Moving Violation enforcement.

Funds will also be used to support operations of the Southwest Missouri DWI Task Force.  The grant is an ongoing cooperation between the Lawrence County Sheriff's Office and MODOT in an effort to make roadways safer in Lawrence County.  The grant funds total nearly $12,000.00.
