Historical Items Taken From Lawrence County Courthouse

04/08/2012

This afternoon thieves stole a 1938 Army uniform, information about the man who wore it, and an extra-wide 1918 Liberty Loan framed photo from a historical display at the Lawrence County Courthouse in Mt. Vernon, Mo. Could you please share the word in hopes we can retrieve them.

Photos of the missing items are attached.

They were probably taken between 2:30 and 3:45 p.m. Friday, April 7. Two people seen there who may or may not have been involved: a dark-haired man in his mid- to late 30s, around 5'10, with black hair, and a girl who appeared to be in her late teens with long medium brown hair with a bleached streak through it.

Anyone with information, please contact Mt. Vernon (Mo.) Police Department, 417-466-2131 or 417-466-2122, or the Lawrence County Historical Society, Kathy Fairchild, 417-466-2185, lchs@mo-net.com.

Thank you for any assistance.
