Meth lab found near Halltown

METH LAB FOUND AND DISMANTLED NEAR HALLTOWN

On Monday, June 16, 2011 the Lawrence County Sheriff's Office was contacted about a possible meth lab in the Halltown area left near a local business.

Investigators with the Lawrence County Sheriff's Office responded and did find a meth lab. The meth lab discovered is known as a “One Pot Method” or a “Shake’n’Bake” manufacturing method. This method of manufacturing methamphetamine is considered highly explosive with documented incidents in Lawrence County of meth labs of this type exploding, resulting in flash fires. The lab was dismantled without incident and has been disposed of with the assistance of COMET.

No arrests have been made at this time.
