Sheriff's Office takes down meth lab near local school

On Monday, May 16, 2011 the Lawrence County Sheriff's Office, the C.O.M.E.T drug task force, and the Aurora Police Department conducted a search warrant at 950 W. Prospect, Aurora, MO.

The Lawrence County Sheriff's Office had received and responded on an anonymous tip of illegal narcotic activity that was within 2000 feet of a school. Items found as of the result of the search warrant were a meth lab, methamphetamine, and drug paraphernalia. Five subjects were arrested and taken into custody and are currently being held at the Lawrence County jail pending formal charges.

Investigation continues into others that may be involved.
