Deputies and C.O.M.E.T. DTF find meth and weapon while searching residence.

On Monday, January 10, 2010 the Lawrence County Sheriff's Office along with the C.O.M.E.T drug task force conducted a search warrant at 300 Division, Stotts City, MO.

The Lawrence County Sheriff's Office received and responded on an anonymous tip of illegal narcotic activity and of a wanted person residing at Stotts City location. Items found as of the result of the search warrant were methamphetamine, prescription medication, and drug paraphernalia. Two subjects were arrested. One of those subjects resisted arrest and was found to have a concealed weapon on his person. The other subject, Tracey Carey, was found to have an active arrest warrant. Both subjects were taken into custody and transported to the Lawrence County jail pending formal charges. Two juveniles were found at the residence and both were referred to the Department of Family Services and later released to a family member.

Investigation continues into others that may be involved.
