Stolen vehicle recoverd and meth lab discovered

12/09/2010

Late Wednesday evening Dec. 8, 2010.  The Missouri State Highway Patrol and Lawrence County Deputies recovered a stolen vehicle as well as an active methamphetamine lab in rural Lawrence County.

A call about a suspicious vehicle was received from an off duty officer.  That officer was able to get a license plate from the vehicle while following it.  That plate came back to a stolen vehicle.  The off duty officer followed the vehicle until state and deputies could make contact with it.  The vehicle pulled in a driveway in the western part of the county and the State Patrol and Deputies arrived a few minutes later.

The subjects in the vehicle were taken into custody and while doing so more subjects were located in and around a residence.  Because of the situation, officers then conducted a protective sweep of the area and discovered an active methamphetamine lab inside the residence.

Five subjects were taken into custody and transported to the Lawrence County Jail where they await formal charges.  The Missouri State Highway Patrol DDCC unit disposed of the lab.
